Rt. Rev. Dr. John Henry Okullu
Bishop Okullu College was started by the late Rt. Rev. Dr. John Henry Okullu, in conjunction with Asembo Kokise community. The college was initially established as a village polytechnic, training students in Mechanical engineering, Tailoring, Masonry, and Carpentry among others. In 1984, Ministerial Training was added and the school’s name was changed to St. John’s School of Mission.
In 2002, the college was renamed Bishop Okullu College, In honor of the founder. The college also entered into partnership with the Tropical Institute of Community Health (TICH) In Kisumu and the Institute of Health in Antwerp, Belgium to establish the Great Lakes University of Kisumu.
The college since then focused on ministerial training for clergy serving the Anglican Dioceses in Western Kenya. The college’s Alumni are distinguished clergy and Bishops, not only in Kenya, but as far as Nigeria, Libya and Tanzania. The college has recently diversified its training to offer courses in Counseling Psychology, Community Health & Development, and Business Management among other Technical courses. The college also offers lay ministry training for the churches within the region.

The college is located within Asembo Community near Asembo bay center, Rarieda Constituency, Siaya County.
The College sits on a serene campus overlooking Lake Victoria and is conducive for Academic learning
